Excalibur Auctions are pleased to be sponsoring the Oakley Court Film and Memorabilia Fair.
Oakley Court Film and Memorabilia Fair is to be held at the stunning Oakley Court Hotel. This venue was the home of the horror genre during the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s and was a regular filming location for the British studios of Hammer & Amicus. It can proudly boast as being the backdrop for Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula, The Reptile & Theatre of Blood, and in more recent times The Rocky Horror Picture Show and TV show favourites The New Avengers and Hammer House of Horror.
The film and memorabilia fair will host more than 40 specialist dealers, renowned Hammer author Wayne Kinsey, Graham Humphreys the highly respected and hugely popular British horror artist and illustrator and a display of Hammer artwork from Tom Chantrell and original used props and displays from Bray Studios.
Both Wayne and Graham will be in attendance from 10:00 am.
Graham Humphreys – British Horror Artist and Illustrator
Graham is responsible for some of the best film posters of the 1980s/90’s including the first two EVIL DEAD movies & all five films of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise. With an incredible body of work behind him, including book covers, record, CD & DVD covers, packaging design and editorial illustrations he’s one of the last great film poster designers still active in the industry today. He continues to lend his unique style to the work of The Creative Partnership, a design studio based in Soho, London. He’s also responsible for many classic VHS covers and has illustrated the poster for the UK horror festival Frightfest since the year it began.
Graham will be available all day from 10.00 and will be selling and signing (he may even pose for photographs) a large selection of his prints & lithographs; to include examples from the recent Eureka Masters of Cinema release of THE OLD DARK HOUSE, AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2, HAMMER AT THE VAULT & many, many more.
Wayne Kinsey – Hammer Film historian & author
Wayne is considered to be a leading expert on Hammer Films who has written several highly acclaimed books on the world famous ‘horror’ film studio including newly published “INSIDE BRAY STUDIOS” in addition to acting as a consultant to other authors, TV & Movie companies.
Wayne will be in attendance all day from 10.00 and selling and signing (he may even pose for photographs) not only his latest book but also some personal archive copies for some of his previous titles. Some of which are incredibly rare, selling out immediately when first published.
To end this event in style, via Venture Cinema, we will be showing ‘Brides of Dracula’ on the ‘big’ screen as part of the Oakley Court Film Poster and Movie Memorabilia Fair at 6.30 pm on October 28th, this film will be introduced by the renowned historian and writer – Wayne Kinsey. It’s not often (if ever) you get the chance to see historic Hammer where it was filmed. The UK Quad poster for this film will be on show with other significant posters and items of interest connected to Oakley court / Bray Studios / Hammer.
