Excalibur Auctions, based in Kings Langley, is offering toy and model railway collectors the chance to bid on over 650 rare items in our Online Vintage Toys and Model Railway Auction on 21st November. The catalogue has been released and can be found on the website, but we will take you through some of the items on offer in this blog.
From large collections of model railways to individual items consigned as childhood favourite toys, Excalibur Auctions separates Model Railway items into appropriately sized lots rather than bundling large quantities together. This auction sees Model Railways ranging in gauges and age. First up we have Lot #63 – HO Scale Model Railways: A RIVAROSSI H42753 American Outline Big Boy Steam locomotive in Union Pacific black livery numbered 4014. This is a 60th Anniversary limited edition model – VG/E in VG box. This has an estimate sale price of between £250-£350.
Another exciting consignment is Lot #335 – OO SCALE MODEL RAILWAYS: A rare HORNBY DUBLO 4654 rail cleaning wagon in immaculate condition. It appears unused with a complete set of 6 unused cleaning pads and instructions, together with packing rings – VG/E in G/VG box. This rare item in almost perfect condition has been valued for £300-£500.
Lot #680, the last and most magical in the auction is for the Potter fans. A G SCALE MODEL RAILWAYS: A Lionel Harry Potter ‘Hogwarts Express’ train set. It is battery operated with remote control. It appears complete and as new – VG/E in G/VG box, with the original shipping carton. This has an estimated sale price of £60-£80.
Moving on to the toy consignments, we have a range of exciting items for sale. Lot #13 is a Vintage Toy Bowman Models rubber powered Greyhound speed boat – circa late 1920s/early 1930s, in its original wooden transit box. It is stamped BOWMAN – G in G box. This is estimated to go for £150-£250.
Other vintage items include aviation related toys such as Lot #2. Lot #2 is a General Diecast Corgi Aviation Archive AA32616 – 1:72 Scale Avro Lancaster ‘467 Squadron’ – G/VG in G box. The predicted hammer price for this is between £40 to £60.
Lot #20 is another vintage toy consignment, a rare late 1940s BAKYO retailers counter-top ‘Spare Parts’ display complete with contents (unchecked) – 4 cardboard trays, in an empty shell, with a deep hinged lid. This is estimated to sell for between £80-£120.
