The Peter Hansen Collection of British Comics and Comic Art - Part 2

Excalibur Auctions is excited to present the largest and most comprehensive private collection of British comics ever to come onto the market.  

It was amassed by passionate private collector Peter Hansen, who has generously loaned items from his collection to a range of institutions over the years, such as the Cartoon Museum and the National Centre for Children’s Books.

So vast is the collection that we, at Excalibur Auctions, are collaborating with Anderson & Garland Auctioneers to host a series of sales throughout 2026.

Anderson and Garland are hosting Part 1, The Peter Hansen Collection of Comics - Premier Sale on 11th and 12th March, and this auction on 9th May is Part 2, hosted by us here at Excalibur Auctions.

Thursday 7th May 2026 - 9:30 - 12:30 and 14:00 - 16:30

Friday 8th May 2026  - 9:30 - 12:30 and 14:00 - 16:30                                                             

Limited viewing is also available in the hour before the auction on Saturday, 9th May 2026, from 9:00 until 10:00 - this is strictly by appointment due to the limited amount of space available

 

        

Remote video viewings via Zoom are also available - please use the notes field to state that a remote viewing is required

COLLECTION APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE MONDAY FOLLOWING THE SALE (or during the auction for those attending in person)

Shipping:

Excalibur Auctions offer a packing and shipping service - please note that we can only deliver to the billing address showing on your account when the auction starts, unless otherwise requested in writing and confirmed by us by return

The service has an estimated lead time of approx 10 days from date of invoice payment.

Reduced buyer's premium of 27% inclusive available for bidders in the room, for commission bids, or telephone bids..
