STAR WARS : A NEW HOPE (EPISODE IV) (1977) - A UK quad film poster - Style C 'Non-Awards' version - Tom Chantrell artwork - This is the 'Pre-Oscar Version' produced before the movie had won 7 Oscars - When George Lucas, Gary Kurtz & the Studio Executives realised just how successful this movie was likely to become their marketing strategy had to be re-assessed - The original Jung & Hildebrand posters, although iconic and artistic, were not really that commercial in terms of characterisation - Tom Chantrell was drafted in and produced this new look, all-action, bolder, brighter looking poster - Luke, Leia, and Han Solo all bear and incredible likeness to their screen counterparts & the Star Wars merchandising phenomena was born - 30" x 40" - condition issues include some paper loss, some fold separation and some staining to the rear which just shows through in certain places. However this would make a perfect candidate for restoration and linen backing as generally the colours are vibrant and sharp, please see photographs - folded (1 in lot)

If you've got one of these and would like to sell it - please send us an email
