A DINKY pre-war 'Dolly Varden' Dolls House comprising a half-timbered dwelling made in printed leatherboard (re-inforced cardboard) together with a folding baseboard with driveway, tennis court and flowerbeds, reverse of house reveals open rooms for the Dolly Varden range of diecast furniture (see previous lots), circa 1936-37. Complete with original instruction sheet and a copy of a November 1989 magazine article describing the house and with a reproduction of the original advert. Rare to find in this condition, G-VG [Literature: M & S Richardson, Dinky Toys & Modelled Miniatures, New Cavendish 1981, pages 72 and 74 and The Great Book of Dinky Toys, 2000, page 83]
