This is Jonathan’s particular area of expertise, grown from his childhood passion and collection. As Excalibur’s principal auctioneer and valuer, his extensive knowledge in this field ensures that we get the best possible price out of your action figures, including Action Man, by both Palitoy and Hasbro.

Action Man clothing and accessories, do you remember all those little boots? does particularly well, as they were the things that we managed to lose when playing with our toys as children.

Star Wars

As well as the obvious action figures like Action Man, GI Joe and Barbie, Star Wars toys and figures are very popular. Rare examples like the Palitoy vinyl caped Jawa that we sold in July 2023 command fantastic prices at auction due to their scarcity, especially when they're still sealed on their original 1973 12-back (SW-12B) backing cards from the first year of production!

Unlike general auction houses or non toy specialists, we take the time to catalogue every item carefully, most items are entered into lots as individuals or pairs, with only a few of them needing to be grouped. The best prices are always achieved when taking this care, to photograph and describe everything in detail, to give all our buyers worldwide the confidence to buy and know exactly what they're getting.

We hold regular auctions throughout the year, in our premises in Kings Langley, and welcome individual items as well as large collections.
